Standing at 4,562 meters (14,967 feet), it is the second-highest mountain in Tanzania and the fifth-highest in Africa. As you climb past the steep ash-cone ridges, you are rewarded with awe-inspiring, close-up views of the volcanic crater and sunrises rising over Mount Kilimanjaro.
