The Green Rift Valley Pearl
Lake Manyara National Park is a compact green jewel squeezed between the steep Rift Valley wall and a massive liquid soda lake. The park is highly famous for its legendary, rare prides of tree-climbing lions that rest on the horizontal branches of ancient acacia trees. As you enter, you pass through a lush, dense underground-water forest inhabited by large baboon troops and blue monkeys. The park is also home to herds of buffaloes, hippos wallowing at the Simba river pool, and seasonal flocks of bright pink flamingos feeding along the shores.
