Trekking Itinerary
Day 1: Londorossi Gate to Lemosho Glades to Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,650m)

Your morning starts with a comfortable private transfer from Arusha to Londorossi Gate for mountain permits. Travel further down to Lemosho Glades to connect with your expert guiding crew and porters. Hike along pristine, wild trails under a beautiful mossy rainforest canopy. Spot black-and-white Colobus monkeys jumping between mahogany trees before reaching Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree) Camp for a hot dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,650m) to Shira 1 Camp (3,500m)

Trek along a steadily rising path as the tropical forest thins out, opening up into the low alpine moorland zone. Cross steep valleys filled with giant heather bushes and scale a sandstone ridge to emerge onto the massive Western rim of the Shira Plateau. Day 3: Shira 1 Camp (3,500m) to Shira 2 Camp (3,840m)

A gentle, short hiking day designed to keep your body resting and acclimating. Cross the sweeping rock fields of the Shira Plateau caldera directly toward the majestic base of Kibo peak. Day 4: Shira 2 Camp (3,840m) via Lava Tower (4,630m) to Barranco Camp (3,950m)

Trek into windswept, dry alpine desert terrains. Climb high toward the soaring volcanic rock obelisk of Lava Tower (4,630m), where our mountain chef will serve a hot lunch inside the dining tent. Confront your morning with an exhilarating scramble up the famous vertical Barranco Wall. Day 6: Karanga Camp (3,995m) to Barafu Base Camp (4,673m)

Trek steadily uphill along a challenging alpine ridge that links with the southern Mweka descent route. Pushing into the thin air, arrive at Barafu Base Camp early. Your porter crew will secure your tents on a rocky ridge. Enjoy an early carbohydrate-rich hot dinner at 05:00 PM, prepare your summit daypacks, and sleep early before the midnight wake-up call.
Day 7: Barafu Camp (4,673m) to Uhuru Peak (5,895m) to Mweka Camp (3,100m)

Wake up at midnight for hot ginger tea and cookies. Begin your final frozen summit push by headlamp light, walking across steep scree switchbacks to Stella Point (5,756m) on the crater rim.
